Study #7

Another in my series of small studies.  This is study #7 and is 6 in x 6 in.  I was very pleased with this one in particular and it sold at the Stockley Gardens Spring Art Show.  This colors in this one will probably become a larger painting.  I have several things in the works including a new study. They should be finished soon.

There have been a lot of family things going on recently.  Our son is home from Turkey, he was finishing is undergraduate work abroad.  It is nice to have him home.

If you are on my email list and have received email from me regarding the Stockley Gardens Spring Festival, there may have been missing image files.  I am trying a new email system that (theoretically) works with my website.  It was easy to set up, but when I tried to use it, not so easy.  I apologize for any inconvenience and will continue to research a workable system.

Gosport Arts Festival

Seasonal Fuge

This weekend is the annual Gosport Arts Festival in Portsmouth, VA.  

On Saturday, May 12th, the show will be open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. On Sunday, May 13th, the show will be open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Small Studies

I have started a new series of small studies.  These paintings are primarily on canvas, unframed and are ready to hang.  The largest is 12x12. The painting shown above is 8x10.  These paintings are completely experimental and some of the textures, processes and/or colors will likely show up in larger more "finished" works.  I am also keeping the pricing affordable.  The 8x10 shown above is $50.00.  Please contact me to purchase.

My space is #62 on Duke of Gloucester near the Cheese Shop.  You will see several new pieces including the one above, titled Spherical Path.  This one is mixed media on board.

Rotational Fusion

2012 is shaping up to be a very busy year.  I have been painting quite a bit.  Above is a new mixed watermedia painting on canvas named Rotational Fusion.  There are a lot of paintings in process and a couple are finished.  If all goes well, there will be a number of new paintings ready for the spring show season.  

I have participated in three shows this winter. Two were private school fund raisers and 12 of my paintings are currently on display at Cedar Point Country Club in Suffolk, VA. My paintings will be on display there until the end of March.

The end of 2011 was filled with home maintenance projects including re-purposing our dinning room into a new studio space for me.  We incorporated a hanging system so that my work can be hung between shows and there is a lot of space to paint.  January was devoted to getting our son ready to go to Turkey where he will complete the final semester of his undergraduate degrees.
