Lime Paradigm |
Lime
Paradigm is a recent painting, it is 11x14 on a gallery wrapped
canvas and is ready to hang without a frame. I started this painting
quite a while ago with a basic composition in mind and just couldn't find the inspiration to finish. It was started in the way I start a lot of
my work, with mostly ink and liquid acrylic paint - very messy and
soupy. While the initial layers are still wet, various items that
make texture are placed in the ink and left to dry. After all these
textural bits are removed, the hard part begins - now what? There will
be many layers in the finished painting.
I took another look at it the week before the Stockley Gardens art show mentioned
in my last post. When I thought about using the lime green, things
started to come together. I gathered up my paint and some more
textural tools and voila, it was finished. Except for a name!
Pattern is always an element in my work, so the word paradigm worked
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/paradigm?s=t. Lime Paradigm
was named, signed, photographed and displayed at the art show.
